Star Gazer

This is the website of AOL member Janry1.  It is one of the fastest improving sites I've ever seen.  I'm judging this site mostly on content.  It's format is still a little under the bar, but Janry's resources are limited and she has to work harder to achieve effects such as you see here.  Nevertheless, I am always pleasantly surprised when I see her latest updates.  Star Gazer is a site of Poetry and Political and Social Opinion.  The poetry is excellent with clear imagery, and though I don't always agree with Janry's opinions, she makes her point known in a crisp, well-written format.  In addition, she has a nice page of links, and a short biography of herself.   This site is well worth a look.  And is this week's Dominion Site of the Week!!

Runner-Up:

Fauquier High School

This is the site of my highschool...on a general scale, the content isn't particularly useful or interesting to anyone who doesn't go to Fauquier, and even then the information isn't that interesting.   Still, it would be a good web presence with a few improvements.

Content:   7  Could be be better

Graphics: 7  Some bad clipart, but generally OK

Readability:  8  Frames, nuff said

Overall: 7  Worth a look, I guess

The first problem is the frames.  Frames, in my mind, are atrociously bad...especially if your links page is in frame format (you go to a link and you still have the frames above the page).  It's really bad on this page because you can't move the bars...the banner you see above is hidden behind a frame.   Format-wise though, that's the only problem.  As far as content, I would like to see school newspaper articles, and maybe a chat room so students and alumni can talk.   For it's purposes though, it serves.  (Note:  Compare my picture of Principal Sherman in my Stupidity and Beyond Cast section to Principal Sites on the first page of this site...)
